People On Bikes in Austria and the
Czech Republic
One of the most popular tours available! Great for groups, families, and casual riders of all levels. Beautiful valleys, rolling hills, historic town squares, and the splendor of Vienna and Prague at each end of the journey. People On Bikes is presenting a 10 Day / 9 Night program that starts in Vienna, moves to the Czech Republic where it winds its way along the Vlatava River towards Cesky Krumlov and ultimately Prague.
Here is our planned itinerary. Read on, I am certain that you will like it!
Day 1 - Arrive in Vienna where you will be picked up from the airport. A tour of the old town will be provided. Our hotel is located downtown in the historic center of Vienna close to many attractions. A group dinner will be held to allow our group to get to know each other.
Day 2 - Riding begins. We will ride out of Vienna and make our way to Valtice in the Czech Republic. Rolling hills and vineyards dot the terrain on this ride. We will stay overnight in Valtice and tour a 13th Century castle.
Day 3 - Valtice to Znojmo much of it along the Dyje River - a full day riding through Moravia. Once in Znojmo, we will have another group dinner - a very special evening that will include wine tasting and local music. Our hotel will be on the town square. A tour of the town is also included, time permitting.
Day 4 - A longer day of riding from Znojmo to Slavonice, but with great scenery and interesting sites along the way. A transfer on a private bus (or an optional additional ride) will take us to Jindrichuv Hradec, where we will stay for the evening. After dinner, a group outing is scheduled to visit the famous 13th century castle that is reportedly haunted by the “White Lady”. Good thing that we are doing that at night, that way we can enjoy the full effect!
Day 5 - Layover day in Jindrichuv Hradec. A tour of the town and some free time to enjoy this beautiful town. A group dinner is scheduled for tonight.
Day 6 - Jindrichuv Hradec to Telc. In Telc, you can enjoy the very impressive town square. According to Fodor’s, “the main square is so perfect you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a painting, not a living town”. Our hotel is on the square to help you get the full effect.
Day 7 - Telc to Cesky Krumlov - also known as the castle city and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll stay in the old town and enjoy the local cuisine, beers, and wines.
Day 8 - Layover day in Cesky Krumlov. A tour of the town and some other activities will be scheduled. Float down the river, tour the castle, shop in the local stores, and find some great spots to try traditional Czech cuisine.
Day 9 - Cesky Krumlov to Prague. Because of the traffic, we won’t ride all the way to the center of town, but will get a bus to our hotel located just off the historic Old Square. Evening drinks on the roof of the Hotel U Prince will provide a spectacular vi
ew at sunset.
Day 10 - Start the day with a tour of the old town from a local expert. Afterwards, we will arrange transfer to the airport for your next destination.
